XBOX 360!

The birthday boy made the request himself...
he really wanted a cake that looked like his XBOX 360.  And black.

And lots of chocolate! Chocolate cake with lots of extra chocolate buttercream just in case some of them didn't want to eat the black fondant.

The controller was carved out of rice cereal treats, covered in melted white chocolate and gumpaste then hand painted with gel food coloring.

All 100% edible!

Noah's Ark!

One very special boy recently celebrated his first birthday! His mom really wanted a Noah's Ark cake but she also knew I was gimping around with a torn ankle tendon.  She said cupcakes and at least a giraffe for the birthday boy would be fine.

Obviously she's learned nothing in the years she's known me.

An almond cake with chocolate "planks" ark overflowing with modeling chocolate animals...all adrift on a chocolate cake sea.

The boy did get his giraffes...and all of the other attending children had their pick of animals as well!

These two were just monkeying around.

The zebras looked a little nervous nestled in between the lions and tigers.

And the elephants were crowding out the poor panda bears!

The boy throughly enjoyed his giraffes and cake...as did we all!

Ultimate Chocolate Cake!

A friend's husband told her she could order whatever kind of cake she wished for her 40th birthday celebration...and she knew exactly what she wanted! She had been drooling over this cake ever since I made a variation of it for my dad's birthday last year.  Of course, I had to pretty it up for her.

Four layers of chocolate fudge cake filled with milk chocolate ganache and covered with whipped chocolate Swiss buttercream.

Dark chocolate ribbon roses adorn the top.

I do know she shared with her guests, though I'm sure it was a difficult thing for her to do!

Cub Scouts...

We recently attended our first Cub Scout Blue & Gold banquet.
My contribution? A cake.  Of course!

covered chocolate fudge cake.

The boys were all delighted!

Tractor!

I asked the birthday boy what he wanted and, in his determined almost-3-year-old voice, he declared, "A Twactor!"

A frozen buttercream tractor resting on brown sugar "dirt" top off an almond cake filled with Swiss vanilla buttercream.

A modeling chocolate picket fence holds back the overgrown buttercream grass.

He was delighted!

Cinderella's Carriage!

When my very own wee princess requests Cinderella's pumpkin carriage for her birthday, how can I refuse?

A carriage made out of almond cake and covered in modeling chocolate and adorned with ribbon roses and chocolate vines...

The wheels were gumpaste covered in melted white chocolate for a "vine like" texture.  The entire creation was liberally painted with eatable silver luster dust for that special princess shimmer.

The birthday girl declared it Perfect.

Tow Truck!

This birthday boy has been working his way through all of the rescue vehicles.  He's had police cars, a firetruck, an ambulance and now...

A tow truck!

Modeling chocolate safety cones held the candles once the cake was all set up.

Layers of chocolate fudge cake, filled and frosted with chocolate buttercream.  Covered in fondant and modeling chocolate.  Even the broken down car was cake!

As you can see...100% eatable!

He's already put in his request for next year--a Rescue Helicopter.
