Big Red Truck!

When a friend's daughter's boyfriend graduates, she asks for a special cake.
His most prized possession is his truck.
Our cake option was clear...

Big. Red. Lifted.

The truck is all edible! Red velvet, filled and covered with chocolate ganache.
Hand painted fondant. Rice cereal wheels.

And working lights.
Working. Lights.
Because my wiring expert husband is awesome!

Because of the lift, I really wanted air under the cake.
Building the platform to accommodate the life and wiring was a challenge.
But it worked!

And then this. That grin right there.
The whole reason I do what I do!

Chocolate cake!

"Ultimate Chocolate Cake"...quickly becoming my most requested cake!

New recipe for chocolate buttercream...chocolate and a pound of butter.
There's no way that can be bad!

Four layers of chocolate cake filled with rich chocolate ganache and buttercream...

Topped with ganache...

Ruffles and ruffles of chocolate.

Small slices recommended.

Ultimate Chocolate Cake!

A friend's husband told her she could order whatever kind of cake she wished for her 40th birthday celebration...and she knew exactly what she wanted! She had been drooling over this cake ever since I made a variation of it for my dad's birthday last year.  Of course, I had to pretty it up for her.

Four layers of chocolate fudge cake filled with milk chocolate ganache and covered with whipped chocolate Swiss buttercream.

Dark chocolate ribbon roses adorn the top.

I do know she shared with her guests, though I'm sure it was a difficult thing for her to do!
