Kermit T. Frog!

The mom asked if I could do a Kermit cake.
I told her I've been waiting my entire cake creating LIFE to put Kermit on a cake!

It was going to be an afternoon/evening pool party.
In central Virginia. In summer.

Royal icing won out over modeling chocolate.

Six layers of chocolate cake, filled and covered with vanilla buttercream.

Kermit himself is a royal icing transfer.

Hi ho!

The birthday boy even had a little single layer, six inch smash cake to match.

Happy 1st, Dawson!

Eiffel Tower Rose Cake!

For my own darling girl...
a brunch in Paris themed party celebrating her 8th birthday.

Chocolate cake covered in vanilla buttercream roses!
The Eiffel Tower is recreated in black royal icing, liberally coated with silver luster dust.

There's a pastry shop just down the street from us that makes
the most amazing croissants and chocolate croissants!
My daughter had also discovered a recipe for White chocolate pumpkin spice lattes...
definitely a recipe we'll keep!

Hockey Cake!

Very little makes this baker feel all warm and fuzzy inside more than a previous recipient specifically requesting one of my cakes!  He had big Duck guys cake last year.
Of course, it had to be equally amazing.

He also happens to be the Washington Capitals' biggest fan.

Four layers of fluffy vanilla cake...colored red, white, and blue.

Filled and covered in vanilla buttercream.  And this handsome kiddo created out of modeling chocolate. Though, seriously, I have got to stop trying to work with modeling chocolate and buttercream during the summer!

A royal icing eagle logo.  Lots of modeling chocolate accents...

He was delighted!

Looking forward to what he'll come up with next year!

Spiderman!

One rather shy boy gathered up the courage to request a
Spiderman cake for his 3rd birthday. Pwease.

Pretty dang hard to deny that level of cuteness!

Dug deep into my bag of tricks and created the largest royal icing transfer I've ever attempted!

One of the webs didn't make it. He's slingin' solo.  I think he can handle it though.
Superheros are cool like that.

The birthday boy was ecstatic!
I received a hug and a massive, "Thank you!"
I love my job!

Monster High!

If it's October, then it must be my own daughter's birthday!
She adores Monster High and Frankie Stein is her favorite...

Vanilla buttercream, royal icing logo...

And a few stitches to hold it all together.

Happy Birthday, baby girl!

The cake itself was a gluten free vanilla cake...because I wanted birthday cake too!
